QUICK FIXES!

POCKET PALS WON’T DOWNLOAD!

At the moment the app is quite big (we’re working on the size), so you will need to make sure: you have enough room on your phone; and you’re connected to wifi, since with 3/4G it could take a while or, even worse, cost you money!

DIDN’T RECEIVE AN ACTIVATION EMAIL WHEN SIGNING UP?

This may take a few minuets to send (depending on your email service). Try checking your Junk folder, it sometimes ends up there!

THE APP KEEPS SAYING “INCORRECT USERNAME OR PASSWORD”

Despite what it says, this message can also appear when you have no (or bad) internet connection. Also, make sure you have received the validation email and verified your account - see ‘Didn’t receive an activation email when signing up?’ if you’re having issues.

THE APP CRASHES IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FIRST SCREEN

Your phone’s operating system must be up to date - unfortunately Pocket Pals struggles to run on older phones due to this and memory issues. Additionally, you must allow Pocket Pals to use your location. To do this, search how to allow applications to use location services for your specific device (try using Ecosia instead of google!).

MY MAP ISN’T LOADING PROPERLY

Pocket Pals currently uses a mix of GPS and internet connection: We need an internet connection to load the map image, the reason we do this to save memory. It’s better to only download your location, rather than store a whole world map on your phone; The GPS works with or without internet, and this is to work out where you are in the real-world. We need this to help us spawn animals based off your surrounding location. If you have both a good internet connection and GPS signal try, exiting the app, closing the application, waiting 10 seconds, then re-open and log-in.

Additionally, you must make sure to allow Pocket Pals to use your location - see ‘The app crashes immediately after the first screen’ above if you’re having issues.

AND REMEMBER…

We’re still an ‘early access’ app - meaning we have a lot more animals, features, and fixes to do! Please let us know of any feedback or issues not answered above by filling out the form below.
